Cullan Duke club president with Jon Green with Mary McGinnis from the League of Women Voters. Wallace Davis (left) CEO of Volunteers of America Outh East was our guest speaker. He gave an overview of the growth of his organization and the current projects that are taking place in our area. Our guest speaker was Fred South, one of our club member.
Major David W. Waite from the the Salvation Army spoke about the humaterian work of the Salvationm Army and how it helps so many people in the greater Mobile area. Our guest speaker was Reverent Jim Flowers from All Saint Episcopal. The title of his presentation
Jim Golson District Governor, 2012-13. Jim and his wife Nancy are pictured above. Jim was our guest speaker and talked about the future of Rotary International and how we at the local level can help change the world Becky Jo Peterson, Director of the Distinguished Young Women Program. She spoke about her involvement with the Young Women Program and how it affects the life and future of so many participants.
Harry Miller a history professor at the University of South Alabama was our guest speaker. Professor Miller specializes in Ming Dynasty China. He gave a state of affairs in North Korea and spoke on a town in China where the locals expelled the police/government and established their own democracy. Our guest speaker was David Calametti of Arts Alive who spoke about the Arts in Mobile and all the activities taking place on the Dauphin street area. Mr. MacPherson from the Bienville Club spoke about the renovation and changes taking place at the Bienville Club. Casi Callaway from Mobile Baykeepers was our guest speaker. She spoke about the efforts being made to protect and preserve our coastal waterways.
Our speaker was Gary Alidor, a Mobile attorney with a passion for Mardi Gras history. He gave a historical timeline from the beginning to present time Mardi Gras customs and festivities.
